LOVE IS AN INFINITE RESOURCE

“Love is an Infinite Resource” is an on-going community project that invites us to acknowledge our mutual interdependence and need for collective care and love. As an antidote to fears about scarce resources and limitations on our lives, it asks us to remember our infinite capacity for love and each person’s inherent worth.

The project began on Valentine's Day in 2016 as an activity I did with my students, where we wrote down names of people in the world we'd like to send love to and then took turns reading them out. Together, we sent love to individuals and groups, alive and dead, real and imaginary, people we knew and people we'd never met. As I told them, “Don’t limit yourselves, love is an infinite resource!”

Since then, the project has had multiple iterations – including a comic in a collaborative zine, workshop activity, pandemic prints for mutual aid, a card in the Artists’ Grief Deck, and free community events. In the last three years, over 200 cards and prints have been sent out into the world under the auspices of “Love is an Infinite Resource.”

At interactive pop-ups, participants of all ages and skill levels make and send notes of appreciation to friends, family, and community members. All materials are provided, including envelopes and stamps for them to be mailed (by me or them).

If you would like to send a card to yourself or someone else, details below!
