TEA POSIES
Why "tea posy"? = Tea Pot + Tea Cosy!
Each tea posy comprises a thrifted teapot and a custom-designed tea cosy, using thrifted yarn and embellishments that I have gathered over the years.
Like many English, I am a life-long tea drinker (a relic of England's colonial history). When I was a kid, almost everyone I knew had a classic brown teapot and hand-knitted tea cosy. As a teen, I thought they were hopelessly uncool. But as an adult, I think they are delightful. And I appreciate that they were often made with yarn leftover from homemade sweaters.
These tea posies are functional, but are mainly intended to be fun, slightly ridiculous, decorative objects that celebrate the thrift and charm of the hand-made tea cosies I grew up with.
